Israel Allies criticize the advance of operation in Gaza

Launched in early May, Israel’s new offensive in Gaza was even condemned by historical allies. The United Kingdom interrupted negotiations that sought to align a free trade agreement between the two countries in response to military climbing, which intensified bombing and expanded terrestrial actions.

In London, in the House of Commons, the British Secretary of Foreign Affairs, David Lammy, said he could not continue commercial plans with Israel in the face of violence in the Palestinian enclave.

“They are isolating Israel from their friends and partners around the world, undermining the interests of the Israeli people and harming the image of the state of Israel in the eyes of the world,” said the secretary.

The government of Prime Minister Keir Strmer also imposed sanctions on a number of settlers in the West Bank and summoned the Israeli ambassador to the country to explain the shrough army’s tactics in Gaza. “I want you to be registered here that we are horrified by the climb of Israel,” warned the prime minister.

The prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said the new Israeli offensive will take control of the entire Gaza Strip. The bombings intensified, with more than 500 dead in the last ten days, according to Palestinian authorities. By land, the operation expands more and more. 70% of the territory is already considered a militarized zone by Israel.

Under international pressure, the defense forces state that the entry of humanitarian aid into the enclave was released on Tuesday (20). In recent weeks, the blockade has prevented the arrival of food, medicines and fuels, leading 500,000 Palestinians to starve, according to the United Nations.

Western powers condemned the escalation of military action: “The help should immediately reach the needy civilians and the blockade Gaza needs to be suspended now, because humanitarian aid should never be politicized,” said European Commission President Ursula Van der Leyen.

France and Canada threatened to take “concrete actions” if the offensive continues and even President Donald Trump, who avoids criticism of his largest ally in the Middle East, did not visit Israel on his trip to the Persian Gulf last week. Even so, there are no signs of retreat from the Netanyahu government.

Defense Minister Israel Katz justifies the action in Gaza claiming that it was the military operation that pressed Hamas to return to negotiations for a ceasefire in the conflict. On Tuesday, Israeli diplomacy said external pressures will not divert the country from their goals.
