Israel detains 63 alleged “Hamas terrorist agents” in West Bank attacks

Israeli security forces detained 63 suspected “Hamas terrorist agents” in military operations that resulted in the detention of more than 80 people in the occupied West Bank overnight, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Thursday. (19).

“Following large-scale anti-terrorism activities overnight in the West Bank, more than 80 wanted suspects were detained, including 63 Hamas terrorist operatives,” he said.

Israeli forces continue to operate in the Nur Shams refugee camp for Palestinians, where five people have been detained, the statement added.

In the village of Qibya, the IDF said Israeli forces demolished the residence of a man it claimed was “a Hamas terrorist” responsible for an attack that killed an Israeli soldier in July.

A Palestinian was shot in clashes with Israeli forces in the city of Burdus, it said.

“During the forces’ activity to demolish the terrorist’s residence, a violent riot was instigated in the city of Burdus by approximately 20 suspects, who threw Molotov cocktails and other objects at the forces. Additionally, the suspects blocked routes with burnt tires and trash cans. The forces responded with live fire and one shot was identified,” the statement said.
