The US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated today that “it is absolutely necessary” to be taken into account by the Israel, the protection of civilians in Gaza, adding that the war it should be followed by a lasting period of peace, leading to a Palestinian state.
Yet Israel is escalating and expanding operations in the Palestinian territories.
About 18,000 Palestinians have been killed and another 49,500 wounded by Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7, Ashraf Al-Kindra, spokesman for the Gaza Ministry of Health, said today.
He told the Al Jazeera television network during a telephone interview that the above numbers include 297 dead and more than 550 injured in the last 24 hours.
