The Israeli farmer Chachi Ariel cultivated the heaviest strawberry in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records.

Ariel he hoped to win a place in the record book, when he saw how much the fruit he had grown on his family farm last year was growing. He was awaiting confirmation that it was a record, while keeping the huge strawberry in the freezer as proof.

“It simply came to our notice then. “I got in the car, laughing and singing,” Ariel described, proudly displaying his certificate. “We have been waiting for this for a long time.”

The previous record had recorded a Japanese farmer, who had discovered a strawberry weighing 250 grams in his crop in 2015.
