Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday (9) that the Israeli military is attacking Hamas “like never before”.
“We always knew who Hamas was. Now the rest of the world knows. Hamas is Isis [Estado Islâmico] and we will prevail against them while the modern world prevailed against Isis,” Netanyahu said in a televised speech.
“This enemy wanted war and this is what they will get.”

The prime minister thanked US President Joe Biden and other world leaders for their support.
“I am in ongoing contact with President Biden and would like to thank him again, on behalf of all citizens of Israel, for the U.S. commitment in word and deed to Israel’s security,” he said. “Additionally, I want to thank many world leaders for their unprecedented support for Israel.”
