Israel issues evacuation warnings in Lebanon hours after ceasefire announcement

The Israeli Army issued evacuation warnings for parts of Beirut’s southern suburbs hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed that the country had accepted a proposed ceasefire with Hezbollah.

The orders were issued by Israeli military spokesman Avichay Adraee at X and cover three buildings in the Bourj Al-Barajne and Ghbaire areas.

The ceasefire is scheduled to come into effect at 4am local time on Wednesday (27), according to United States President Joe Biden.

Netanyahu says Israel will respond to violations

In the same speech, the prime minister warned that Israel will respond “decisively” to possible violations of the ceasefire.

“We will enforce the agreement and respond vigorously to any violations. Together, we will continue until victory”, highlighted Netanyahu.

“In full coordination with the United States, we maintain complete freedom of military action. If Hezbollah violates the agreement or tries to rearm, we will attack decisively,” he warned.
