Israel: Just $ 2 will cost every interception with laser air defense system, says Prime Minister Bennett

It will cost just $ 2 each to intercept a laser-based air defense system that Israel hopes to develop next year to neutralize enemy missiles and drones, Israeli Prime Minister Nafta said today.

Israel is currently dependent on anti-aircraft missile launch systems, which cost tens of thousands to millions of dollars, to deal with these air threats.

But the Iron Beam system, the prototype of which was introduced last year, uses lasers to overheat and neutralize air threats.

Bennett predicted that he would enter service in early 2023.

“It’s something that is changing the game, not only because we are going to hit the enemy army, but also because we are going to bankrupt it,” he said during a visit to state-owned Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.

Palestinian and Lebanese forces have fired thousands of rockets and mortar shells at Israel in previous wars, which in recent years have also intercepted drones believed to have been fired by Iranian-backed militants.

“To date, it costs us a lot of money to intercept any rocket. Today (the enemy) can invest tens of thousands of dollars in a rocket and we will invest $ 2 in electricity to intercept that rocket,” Bennett said in a video. to the public from his office.
