Israel: More than 10,700 cases of coronavirus in 24 hours

The Israeli Ministry of Health announced yesterday Tuesday that in the previous 24 hours 10,720 cases of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed, with their number breaking the barrier of ten thousand for the first time since September 13, 2021, with the total number of infections reaching at 1,409,944.

6,750 cases were announced on Monday

The ministry also said that 2 more patients died due to complications of COVID-19, while the number of patients being treated in a serious condition increased to 117 (+9 in 24 hours).

The so-called active cases increased to 46,455, the highest level since October 1. It was less than 5,400 in early December.

The virus replication index (R0) increased to 1.91, while it did not exceed 0.73 in early November.
