Israeli forces rescued an Israeli hostage from a tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip in “a complex rescue operation,” the military said on Tuesday (27), more than 10 months after he was kidnapped by Hamas-led gunmen on October 7, 2023.
Authorities said Kaid Farhan Al-Qadi, 52, a member of the Bedouin community in southern Israel, was transferred to hospital. The health facility’s CEO said the man was in good condition.

When the rescue was confirmed, Israeli television networks showed a military helicopter landing at a hospital, while medical staff and an ambulance were waiting to receive Al-Qadi.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the rescue and highlighted Israel’s military pressure against Hamas.
Kaid Farhan Al-Qadi was taken hostage in Kibbutz Magen, a community near the Gaza Strip that was targeted in last year’s Hamas attack.
