Israel says it hit more than 280 targets in Lebanon on Wednesday (25)

The Israeli military said it struck more than 280 Hezbollah targets in Lebanon on Wednesday (25) – marking the third day of “extensive” attacks.

“The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continue to conduct strikes against additional targets,” the IDF said.

The IDF said its targets included rocket launch sites used to fire projectiles toward the northern Israeli cities of Safed and Nahariya on Wednesday morning.

The fighter jets struck 60 targets belonging to Hezbollah’s intelligence unit and destroyed surveillance equipment, command rooms and intelligence-gathering infrastructure, the military said.

Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon left at least 51 dead on Wednesday, according to the Lebanese health minister.

Nearly 600 people have been killed and around 1,700 injured in attacks since Monday (23), according to information from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), citing data from the Lebanese government.

Israel struck more than 1,300 targets on Monday and about 250 on Tuesday (24), according to the IDF.

Possible land incursion

The Israeli army is preparing for a possible ground incursion into Lebanon, its top general said on Wednesday (25).

It was the second time on Wednesday that a top Israeli general said a ground operation could be imminent. Israel’s top general in the north, Ori Gordin, said the military “must be fully prepared for maneuvers.”

This also comes just hours after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it was calling up two reserve brigades because of the conflict with Hezbollah.
