An Israeli drone targeted and killed “several terrorists” who tried to infiltrate Israeli territory from Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Saturday (14).
The IDF did not say exactly when the operation took place, but, in an update, stated that the action took place “a short time ago”. No other details about the victims or the operation were shared.

On Friday (13), the military confirmed that it was conducting drone strikes against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
The measure came in response to “the infiltration of unidentified aerial objects into Israel and the fire on a UAV [veículo aéreo não tripulado] of the IDF,” the Israeli military said in a statement.
In an earlier statement, the Israeli military said the “infiltration of an unidentified object” occurred near the city of Shfar’am in northern Israel.
Tension on the border with Lebanon increases
The northern border between Israel and Lebanon remains one of the most important and dangerous areas in the region.
Following Hamas’ surprise attacks on Israel on October 7, tension has increased on this border, which has been largely calm since the Israel-Lebanon war in 2006.
Any conflict that breaks out in the area could further inflame the war with Hamas by attracting the most powerful paramilitary group in the Middle East: Iran-backed Hezbollah.
