Israel, Shani Louk’s mother, kidnapped at the rave: “My daughter is alive but seriously injured: you must free her”

Shani Louk, the twenty-two year old German girl taken hostage by the Hamas terrorist group during the attack (which caused at least 260 deaths) on the rave near Kibbutz Reim, near the border with Gaza, is believed to have alive, but “seriously injured”, with head trauma.

This was stated by the mother of the young tattoo artist, with a video in which she addresses the German government asking that her daughter be released as soon as possible. «We must act quickly and take Shani out of Gaza, every minute is crucial. This is not the time to discuss jurisdictional issues», explained the woman.

Palestinian sources are said to have contacted the parents of the 22-year-old. Markus Waidmann, her uncle, specifies: «We cannot verify the sources. It is simply information coming from different directions via WhatsApp, videos, etc.,” he explained in an interview with German broadcaster SWR. But, according to him, it would not make much sense to kidnap a dead woman in the Gaza Strip: for this reason she still has some hope. “We cling to small pieces of information, to the testimonies of those who have experienced the same fate: this is how we move forward at the moment.”

He too calls on the government to act quickly and hopes for a prisoner exchange. «The Israelis generally want to free all their people from captivity. Another Israeli family repeated exactly this appeal to the media last night.” Relatives of the abducted people have asked the Israeli government to use contacts with Hamas as soon as possible to facilitate an exchange. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock assured that her office is working full time on the release of the hostages, «but with a terrorist organization like Hamas, this is obviously far from easy: the hostages would be used as human shieldsjust like the local civilian population.”

Shani Louk’s family recognized the girl in a video in which she was half naked and unconscious in a jeep conducted by Hamas men. One of them spat on her head, another, pulling her dreadlocks, shouted: “Allahu Akbar” (“God is great”).

A corridor to make civilians escape

Meanwhile, according to Hamas sources, at least 30 people died during the night following the Israeli attacks on Gaza: 950 victims and around 5,000 injured, according to the Hamas Ministry of Health in the Strip.

The Biden administration is coordinating with other countries to create a corridor that allows civilians in Gaza to escape the war and to the Americans, as NBC reports. The corridor would be south of Gaza and lead to Egypt.

According to the Israeli army, they are allocated approx 300 thousand soldiers near the Gaza Strip. The spokesperson of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), Jonathan Conricus, confirms this in a video published on our artillery corps and many other reserve soldiers: 300,000 in all. And this is to ensure that Hamas, at the end of this war, will have no military capacity with which to threaten or kill Israeli civilians.”
