THE Tehran blames Israel for the murder of Hassan Sayyid Hodai, who was shot dead by two motorcyclists who approached him while he was in his car, and has said he will retaliate.
The Israeli National Security Council said in a statement on Monday (30/5) that Tehran is likely to seek to target Israelis in Turkey and described the latter as a “high-risk country”.
Turkey is a popular tourist destination for Israelis and the two countries are re-establishing relations after more than a decade of tension.
Israel had accused Honda of plotting to attack its citizens around the world.
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who oversees the Mossad intelligence service, has declined to comment on the killing, but Bennett said yesterday that Tehran would “pay the full price” for inciting attacks on Israel.
