Israeli air strike leaves three dead in Damascus, Syria

Three people died and three others were injured on Wednesday after an Israeli airstrike hit a three-story building in the Mazzeh Western Villas neighborhood in Damascus, the Syrian capital.

“I heard two missile explosions. There was a loud bang and the glass in the windows of my house broke. Our neighbors’ shops and civilian homes were damaged. They are all civilians. I know them,” said a local resident who witnessed the airstrike.

On Tuesday morning (1), another Israeli attack near the neighborhood killed three civilians and injured nine others.

In January, an earlier Israeli attack on the neighborhood killed 13 people, including five Iranians.

The neighborhood, which is home to several diplomatic missions and high-profile residences, has been the target of previous Israeli attacks as it is believed to host commanders from Iranian and Palestinian factions.

The Israel Defense Forces has not commented on the latest attack so far.
