Israeli Ambassador calls for UN president to resign: “Shows compassion for atrocities”

Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, called on Tuesday (24) for the organization’s secretary-general, António Guterres, to resign immediately.

Erdan stated that Guterres distorts the terrorist attacks by the racially Islamic group Hamas after the secretary-general’s speech at this Tuesday’s UN Security Council meeting.

“The UN Secretary-General’s shocking speech at the Security Council meeting, while rockets were fired at all of Israel, proved conclusively, beyond any doubt, that the Secretary-General is completely out of touch with the reality in our region and that he sees the massacre committed by Hamas Nazi terrorists in a distorted and immoral way,” wrote Erdan.

“His statement that ‘Hamas’ attacks did not happen in a vacuum’ expressed an understanding of terrorism and murder. It’s really incomprehensible. It is truly sad that the head of an organization that emerged after the Holocaust has such horrible views. A tragedy!”, added Erdan.

Erdan accused Guterres of showing understanding and compassion to Hamas.

“There is no justification or point in speaking to those who show compassion for the most terrible atrocities committed against the citizens of Israel and the Jewish people. There are simply no words,” Erdan said on his social media.
