The Israeli army carried out an invasion of Jenin in the Israeli-occupied West Bank this Monday (14), where two Palestinians were killed, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.
A Palestinian Red Crescent paramedic who was sent to care for a victim said the army asked him to bring the body to them, making sure the victim was dead, and was then allowed to take the body to the hospital morgue.
Violence in the West Bank had been rising for more than two years but has gained intensity since Hamas fighters, based in the coastal enclave of Gaza, led an attack on Israel last October.
Unlike the Gaza Strip, the West Bank is run by the Palestinian Authority. Still, Israel claims that groups linked to Hamas have gained strength in the region.
