Israeli army raids West Bank – Two Palestinians killed

A raid was carried out this morning by Israeli army in the northern part of the occupied West Bank. At least two Palestinians were killed, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.

The two Palestinians, aged 17 and 23, were killed “by the Israeli occupation forces who raided the Jenin area,” the ministry added.

Other officials said other Palestinians were seriously injured.

Israeli forces have stepped up their operations in the West Bank since Wednesday. the attack that took place on Tuesday night and in which five people were killed in Bnei Brack, a suburb of Tel Aviv. The perpetrator was a young Palestinian from Yabad, a village near Jenin.

The Israeli army confirmed that soldiers and members of the border guard “carried out an operation” this morning in the area of ​​Jenin to arrest “suspects”, as reported by Agence France-Presse and Athens News Agency.

“During this operation, armed Palestinians opened fire on the soldiers who responded by opening fire,” the army said, adding that one soldier was slightly injured and taken to hospital.
