Israel’s military said this evening it had neutralized “at least 19 Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists” in its deadly airstrike on a Gaza school that sparked international outrage. “Following an intelligence investigation, we can confirm that at least 19 Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists have been neutralized,” the military said in a statement, releasing the names and photos of what it said were the slain militants. “The terrorists were operating with the intention of carrying out attacks against Israeli soldiers (…) from inside the compound” of the school building complex, the statement added. The Israeli military additionally reported that the raid was carried out “with the use of three precision munitions” and that “the area where the terrorists were located did not suffer significant damage.” According to the Civil Protection of the Palestinian enclave, 93 Palestinians were killed in this attack by the Israeli army on the school building complex.
