The Israeli military attacked Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip shortly before a ceasefire agreement came into effect, the Israeli armed forces announced today.
Soldiers destroyed a tunnel in the morning from which a Hamas fighter came out and opened fire on themthe Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported via the Telegram platform.
Israeli soldiers also found fighters and weapons in a building used by the Islamist Palestinian group. “The terrorists were killed” and the building was destroyed, the military added.
Early this morning, Israeli government approves agreement with Hamas for a four-day ceasefire and the release of dozens of hostages in exchange for the release of Palestinians held in Israeli prisons. The exact start of the ceasefire is to be announced within 24 hours, according to Qatar, which brokered the deal.
