Israeli army withdrawal from southern Lebanon to take longer than 60-day deadline

The Israeli army will not complete its withdrawal from southern Lebanon by Monday’s deadline, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said today, saying Lebanon has not yet fully implemented a ceasefire agreement. The deal, brokered by the US and France, ended more than a year of hostilities between Israel and pro-Iranian Hezbollah.
