Israeli attack kills at least 13 people in northern Gaza

At least 13 people were killed by an Israeli strike in Beit Lahiya in northern Gaza, according to Palestinian health officials, just a day after another Israeli offensive in the region killed more than 90 people.

The latest attack occurred at 1:48 pm local time this Wednesday (30) on a street that used to house one of the region’s main food markets, according to a journalist at the scene who works for the CNN . Authorities at nearby Kamal Adwan Hospital said at least 13 people were killed.

Images filmed by the journalist show crowds of people running to help the injured. Civilians could be seen using carts and blankets to carry the injured through rubble-strewn streets to a nearby field hospital operated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

THE CNN contacted the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) for comment on the attack.

The attack came after an Israeli offensive on Tuesday (29) on a multi-story building killed more than 90 people, including children.

The US State Department said after Wednesday’s attack that the Israeli government had not yet given it an explanation for Tuesday’s offensive and that it was “not doing enough to give us the answers we requested.”

People in northern Gaza have been struggling with inhumane conditions for several weeks. The region has been largely cut off from humanitarian supplies for nearly a month and Israeli bombing has forced all three hospitals in the region to close.
