The Israeli army said on Friday (4) that he killed Hassan Farhat, commander of Hamas, in the region of Sidon, in southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health said three people were killed in an Israeli attack on an apartment in the city.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s office said the attack was a clear violation of the US-backed ceasefire that ended last year’s war between Israel and Hezbollah, Iran-backed group.
The ceasefire has worn out in recent weeks, with two Israeli attacks on suburbs south of Beirut, controlled by the militant group, and rockets being fired on two occasions by Lebanon towards Israel.
Hezbollah denied any role in the launch of rockets.
