Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and the Commander General of the US Central Command, Erik Kurilla, discussed this Friday (12) preparations for a potential Iranian attack on Israel.
Gallant and Kurilla spoke about “readiness for an Iranian attack against the State of Israel, which could lead to regional escalation,” according to a statement from Gallant's office.
After the meeting, Gallant called Kurilla “a true friend of Israel” and thanked him for U.S. support for Israel.
“Our enemies think they can separate Israel and the United States, but the opposite is true – they are bringing us together and strengthening our ties. We stand side by side,” Gallant added.
The defense minister said Israel was “prepared to defend itself on land and in the air” and would respond “in close cooperation with our partners.”
The two met at the Israeli air base of Hatzor, near Ashdod, in the Southern District of Israel.
