Israeli forces have left the West Bank city of Jenin and the refugee camp there after a 10-day episode of “violent aggression,” the Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported on Friday (6).
Twenty-one people were killed in the city and countryside, the Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement.
A Reuters witness said Israeli forces left extensive damage to infrastructure.
Residents said they lived in “terror” during the operation, with some having to flee their homes.
In a statement on Facebook, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry accused Israel of transferring its brutal destruction and devastation in the Gaza Strip to the occupied West Bank, as evidenced by the situation in the cities of Jenin and Tulkarm, and the refugee camps there.
