Israeli Foreign Ministry says some countries “had difficulty condemning terrorism”

The Israeli Foreign Ministry said it was “regrettable” that some of the delegations at the Peace Summit in Cairo, this Saturday (21), “had difficulty condemning terrorism or recognizing the danger”.

“It is regrettable that even when faced with these horrific atrocities, there were some who had difficulty condemning terrorism or recognizing the danger,” the ministry said in a statement published by its spokesperson on X (formerly Twitter).

“Israel will do what it has to do and hopes that the international community recognizes the battle as just.”

One final joint statement was not issued after the Summit ended due to “differences” between the delegations regarding the wording, an official and a diplomat with knowledge of the matter confirmed this Saturday to CNN.

The Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7 were “a wake-up call for the world to fight terrorism together,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry said.

“The Islamic terrorist threat not only endangers Israel, it endangers states in the region and the entire world.”
