Israel's military said today it had killed a senior Hezbollah commander in an airstrike in southern Lebanon, two days after Israel killed another senior member of the Lebanese Shiite militant movement in a raid in the same area. “An Air Force aircraft bombed a vehicle in the Kunin region of Lebanon in which Ismail al-Zain was riding,” the Israeli military said. The army presented him as the “commander of a unit (…) responsible for dozens of attacks” against Israel. In Beirut, Hezbollah, in a press release, confirmed the death of Ismail al-Zain, without specifying his role within the movement. On Friday, the Israeli military announced it had killed “Ali Abdel Hassan Naim, deputy commander of Hezbollah's rocket and rocket unit,” in an attack in Bazouriye in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah confirmed Naim's death as well.
