The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) shot down a surface-to-air missile fired from Lebanon against a “remotely piloted aircraft”, according to a statement on social media this Saturday (28).
According to the note, the military attacked the “origin of the launch”.
Also this Saturday, the IDF noted that it entered northern Gaza overnight and expanded military operations with infantry and armor in the region, as it intensifies the attack against Hamas.
Military spokesman Daniel Hagari said Israeli forces were still “in the field”, without giving further details.
Death of Hamas commander
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated this Saturday (28) that a fighter jet attack killed Asem Abu Rakaba, one of the Hamas air operations chiefs who helped plan the October 7 attack.
Rakaba would have commanded Hamas members who invaded Israel using paragliders, in addition to being responsible for drone attacks against Israeli military posts, according to the IDF note.
“Abu Rakaba was responsible for Hamas’ UAVs, drones, paragliders, aerial detection and defense,” said the statement on social media.
