Israeli security forces kill three Palestinians who were ‘preparing to carry out an attack’ in the West Bank

The Israeli security forces shot and killed three Palestinians who were planning to carry out an attack, according to the army, police and Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency.

In their joint statement, according to the Athens News Agency, it is stated that “a cell of terrorists from the Jenin refugee camp was spotted in a car” and it is believed that these men were on their way to carry out an attack. The head of the cell and two other members were killed by security forces “on the outskirts of Jenin”, in the northern West Bank.

The army announced that the head of the cell was 26-year-old Nayef Abu Zweit, who was operating in the Jenin camp. In the past he was involved in “armed operations against the security forces, following the instructions of the terrorists of the Gaza Strip”.

Hazem Qassem, a Hamas spokesman from Gaza, said these deaths would not go unpunished. “The enemy, who murdered three Palestinians of our people, will pay the price of his crimes,” he said in his statement.
