Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza reach 46

The Israeli army announced the death of two more soldiers in the fighting in the Gaza Strip, raising to 46 the total number of military personnel who have been killed in the Palestinian enclave since its inception war with Hamas.

On October 7, Hamas launched a bloody attack on Israel, killing about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, according to Israeli authorities. Since then Israel has relentlessly pounded Gaza by air, sea and land, and more than 11,000 people have been killed, according to the Hamas government. On October 27, Israeli armored vehicles entered Gaza in order to “eliminate” the Islamist organization.

The Israeli armed forces announced today that they are coordinating the transfer of incubators to the Gaza Strip to possibly allow the removal of newborns from the largest hospital in the Palestinian enclave.

The announcement, posted on social media alongside a photo of a soldier loading incubators into a van, came after desperate calls from Al Shifa Hospital for a sick newborn as Israeli ground forces close in and fuel for generators runs out.
