Israelis furious over ‘irresponsible and hasty’ ceasefire – They accuse Netanyahu of surrender

Benjamin Netanyahu presented the ceasefire agreement reached with Hezbollah as part of what he called Israel’s “unprecedented achievements” in the last year of the multi-front war. According to him, Israel has taken Hezbollah “back dozens of years” and it is not the same group it was before. He placed great emphasis on Israel’s power to do what it believed needed to be done – in Gaza, Lebanon and elsewhere – despite international opposition. He also justified the ceasefire, saying it would allow Israel to “focus on the Iranian threat” and stressing that his country would retain full military freedom to counter any new Hezbollah threat.
