Hezbollah claimed that Israeli soldiers invaded Lebanon from territory close to UN peacekeeping positions. The Lebanese organization said in its statement that it pushed back the Israelis who infiltrated near Labun, a border village, back across the border. “We are in constant contact with UNIFIL to ensure that (the peacekeepers) do not find themselves in the crossfire,” said a spokesman for the Israeli army, Nadav Shoshani. About 10,000 peacekeepers have been deployed in southern Lebanon, along the “blue line” that defines the border with Israel.
