Israel's government before the Supreme Court to explain its humanitarian policy

On March 18, five NGOs appealed to the Supreme Court asking the Israeli authorities to “respect their obligations as an occupying power” by providing all necessary assistance to the civilian population in the Gaza Strip. After an initial examination of the matter last week, the Court gave until today, April 10, for the Israeli government to respond to a series of issues including: what steps it will take to increase aid access, what are the obstacles NGOs face and how many requests for aid coordination and access it has turned down and why. The NGOs will then have five days to respond to the government's arguments before the court makes its decision.
