Israel's military says it has freed two hostages held in Rafah

His security services and army Israel announced the release of two hostages who had been kidnapped on October 7 by its fighters Hamas during an operation on the night of Sunday to Monday in Rafa, in its southern part Gaza Strip.

“Fernando Simon Marman, 60, and Luis Har, 70, were recovered during a nighttime operation in Rafah conducted jointly by the army, the Shin Bet (a.k.a. the internal security service) and the police,” it says the joint press release they released as broadcast by the Athens News Agency.

The hostages were taken to Sheba Hospital, in central Israel, the health structure announced. Doctors confirmed that they are “in good condition”.

The announcement followed heavy airstrikes in Rafah that killed more than 50 people in Rafah, according to the Health Ministry of Hamas, which rules the Palestinian enclave.
