The Israel Defense Forces confirmed that Maya was abducted last week and said officials have contacted her family and are in contact with them. “In the video released by Hamas, they try to present themselves as humanitarians. However, it is a horrific terrorist organization responsible for killing and kidnapping babies, children, men, women and the elderly,” an IDF post on X said.

“Right now, we are developing all the information and operational measures to return all the hostages – including Maya“, the IDF added.

Maya’s family responded to the clip, saying that they are happy to see her safe. Maya is an Israeli-French national. Her family was among French families who appealed last week to French President Emmanuel Macron to help free their relatives.
