The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) published the retail and wholesale price indices for February.
According to his calculations, retail prices increased by 4.4% on a monthly basis in February, recording an annual increase of 55.32%, the highest level in the last 20 years.
Wholesale prices in the city increased by 3.38% from January for an annual increase of 58.39%, the ITO reported.
These indicators are used by economists as an indicator of inflation at the national level.
The Turkish State Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced an annual inflation rate of 48.69% in January, the highest in two decades, while the independent inflation group ENAG reported a rate of 114.87%.
TÜİK will report inflation data for February on March 3.
