Istanbul: Intensity and hundreds of arrests along the LOATKI + route

About 400 arrests were made by police on Sunday in Constantinopleafter the start of its course ΛΟΑΤΚΙ+ community. Both the organizers of the march and a non-governmental organization for the defense of the rights of the community made a relevant announcement about the incident, informing that finally everyone was released.

The mayor of Istanbul had banned the march since 2015, however, this year, hundreds of supporters of the rights of the LGBTQI + community, ignoring the ban, gathered in the streets around Taksim Square, which was closed to the public, according to the French News Agency. and rebroadcast by the Athenian News Agency.

The tension seemed to have started before the Pride March rally, when police raid streets and cafes in Jihangir district, arresting peopleaccording to a group of AFP journalists.

Some of those arrested began to be released shortly before 11pm, almost 6 hours after their arrival.
