The actress Blake Lively 36, and the writer Colleen Hoover 44, reacted to the question about a possible sequel to the film “This is how it ends” which hit Brazilian cinemas on Thursday (8), in an interview with CNN .
The feature film is an adaptation of the book of the same name written by Hoover and published in 2016. The author released a sequel to the story in 2022, entitled “This is how it begins” .
“If Colleen [Hoover, autora] “If I have her rights, I will go anywhere. I will follow this woman anywhere,” Blake said.
“You heard her,” said the writer, who is also responsible for the executive production of “This is how it ends” .
THE CNN the actress known for being one of the protagonists of “Gossip Girl” (2007-2012) revealed that she had never been as involved in a project as with this production.
“This is by far, in some ways, the most involved I’ve ever been in a film. I was given a lot of freedom on and off screen. I feel very grateful for that, because I really believe in this story,” she said.
The title marks the first adaptation of a book by Colleen Hoover for the screen. The author is one of the leading names in contemporary literature, is on several best-seller lists around the world and was cited as one of the most influential people of 2023 by Time magazine.
“This is how it ends” follows Lily Bloom, who overcomes childhood and teenage traumas and leaves for Boston, in the United States, to start a new life and fulfill a dream: opening a flower shop with her name.
Once there, she meets a charming neurosurgeon, who turns out to be her new best friend’s brother. They get closer and start a romance, but the relationship starts to remind Lily of memories from the past that she wants to forget. In the midst of this, the florist meets an old love, which ends up making the situation even more complicated.
In addition to Lively, Isabella Ferrer , Jenny Slate (“Gifted”), Brandon Sklenar (“1923”) and Justin Baldoni (“Jane, The Virgin”) – who is also responsible for directing the film – make up the cast.
