“It Ends With Us”: Colleen Hoover Says Film Is a “Faithful” Adaptation of the Book

The American writer Colleen Hoover 44, stated that the film adaptation of “This is how it ends” is faithful to the book. The film hits Brazilian cinemas on August 8th.

“We involved a lot of readers in reading the script. Their feedback changed some things in the script for the better. Who better to tell you what they want to see from the book than the fans themselves who were there from the beginning?” he said in a video published by Sony Pictures, responsible for distributing the title.

“I think it’s a very faithful adaptation. Readers and people who love this book are going to be thrilled and excited and moved. And all the things that I was expecting, it exceeded my expectations, honestly,” he said.

The film stars Blake Lively (“Gossip Girl” and “A Simple Favor”), Brandon Sklenar (“1923”) and Justin Baldoni (“Jane, The Virgin”) – who is also responsible for directing the film.

In the plot, Lily Bloom believes she has found the love of her life, however, after an attitude Ryle’s abusive behavior, she remembers her dark past and must decide if love alone can carry her marriage forward. To complicate matters further, an old love reappears in her life.

“This is how it ends” is Hoover’s most successful book. The work has been a bestseller for three consecutive years. In 2022, she released a sequel, entitled “This is how it begins.”
