Nvidia today unveiled not only its cheapest Ampere graphics card, but also its most expensive, the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. Its cost is not named, but it will definitely be more expensive than a regular GeForce RTX 3090. The only question is how much. Nvidia also has not yet announced a start date for the new product – details are expected during this month.
GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is built on a fully functional GPU GA102 – this model uses the GA102-350 modification with 10,752 CUDA cores, 336 Tensor cores and 84 Ray Tracing cores. For comparison, the GeForce RTX 3090 has 10,496 CUDA cores, 328 tensor cores, and 82 Ray Tracing cores.
The GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is the first Nvidia graphics card to feature 21 GHz GDDR6X memory chips. The bus width remained the same, 384 bits, but the memory bandwidth increased and surpassed the 1000 GB / s mark. For comparison, the GeForce RTX 3090 has 936 GB / s. The base frequency of the GPU is 1560 MHz, the maximum is 1860 MHz. The performance of the novelty is about 40 TFLOPs – the maximum value for the Ampere line. Interestingly, the GeForce uses a 16-pin connector instead of an 8-pin connector to supply additional power. Apparently, the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti will be the first graphics card in the world to be powered by a new connector. The TDP of the GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is 450W – 100W higher than the GeForce RTX 3090.
