Recently, 22-year-old Mia Dio went viral on TikTok after reporting that she used Artificial Intelligence (AI) to clone her boyfriend’s voice during a conversation with his best friend and discovered a betrayal.
Each step of the process was shared with its more than 5 million followers on the platform. However, the whole story was set up.
To “The Sun”, tiktoker stated that the boyfriend and friend were involved in the plan from the beginning. She went on to say that she wanted to share the trick for anyone who is unsure about their partner’s behavior.
“We decided to try it with his voice and were shocked at how close the results were. [Então] we had the idea of the fictional video and the prank together”, he said.
Mia also shared how she managed to imitate his voice so accurately and how she managed to fool all of her followers. “I used a software called ElevenLabs, it cost around £3.14″.
“I’m sure in the video it looked more robotic – but in person it was extremely convincing, even for me, who created it,” he continued.
While netizens were misled by the video, Mia clarified that in her case, luckily it wasn’t true. “We were surprised at the number of people who believed this happened. The backlash to online cheating was very supportive and I appreciated the love my fans gave even if it was a prank,” she said.
Still according to the vehicle, the young woman, who was considered a “genius” by her followers, concluded: “My boyfriend and I are still happy and together.”
