Actor Bruno de Luca said that seeing Kayky Brito run over “was the worst thing that happened” in his life.
Luca testified for almost two hours about the episode, this Wednesday afternoon (6), at the police station in Barra da Tijuca, in the west zone of Rio.

After the hearing, the actor told journalists that he was writing a play with a friend. “Now he needs to recover. I am very grateful for all the messages I have received to pass on to him. Messages for me too because what I went through was very difficult”.
Luca said he hoped “now I can take control of my head and improve my life, and move on” and that he doesn’t want to see any more footage of the accident.
The police also took a statement from an employee of the kiosk where the artists were. According to the waiter Edivan Martins, Brito and Luca arrived at the place around midnight on Saturday (2). Each of them consumed two shots of vodka with energy. Martins said he saw no signs of drunkenness.
“They were fine, laughing with each other, talking to me, joking”, commented Edivan.
Driver gave assistance
The waiter has been working for about two years at the Dona Maria kiosk, at post 6 on Avenida Lúcio Costa, on the edge of Barra da Tijuca. According to his assessment, the app driver who ran over Kayky was within the maximum speed allowed on the road.
“I think he was really on edge. And he was really, really nice. He stayed there the whole time waiting, waiting for help. He himself called the Fire Department, called everything, did everything”, said the waiter. “He is a quiet person. He said it wasn’t his fault, that ‘the guy showed up and came out of nowhere’”.
The report is similar to that of the passenger who was in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Dentist Estela Lima testified earlier this week and said the driver acted prudently throughout the journey.
hospitalized actor
Kayky is still hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of Hospital Copa D’Or, in Copacabana, in the South Zone. The medical bulletin released this Wednesday states that the actor underwent new CT scans, with signs of evolutionary improvement. But he remains sedated and on mechanical ventilation.
He suffered polytrauma and traumatic brain injury. On Tuesday (5), the artist underwent a procedure to fix a fracture of the pelvis and upper right limb, which, according to the hospital, was successful.
