The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation (Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation) will complicate, but will make it safer to enter the “Gosuslug” portal. This was reported by the Izvestia newspaper with reference to the press service of the ministry.

In 2022, a mandatory two-factor authentication for all users will be introduced on “Gosuslugi”. In addition to entering a login and password, users will also have to enter a special code, which can only be obtained by SMS. Representatives of the Ministry of Finance noted that this step is being taken for the sake of additional protection of citizens’ data.
As noted by Izvestia, at the moment about 90% of users of Gosuslug are limited to the usual one-factor authorization. However, users tend to use simple passwords, while interest in accounts from fraudsters is growing.
