Italian MP and former minister accused of stealing perfume from airport Duty Free

Italian authorities have ordered a public prosecutor's investigation into Italian parliamentarian and former justice minister Piero Fassino, who allegedly tried to steal perfume from a Rome airport duty-free shop, according to Italian press reports. Fascino, an official of the Italian center-left, replied that while he was in the airport shop his mobile phone rang and he put the perfume in his pocket, wanting to pay for it later. He said it was a misunderstanding According to the press, Duty Free officials claim security camera footage shows the MP walking away without paying.
