An Italian tourist was stabbed during an attempted robbery in the Glória neighborhood, in the south of Rio, this Friday morning (29). The man was accompanied by two other foreign women, who were not injured.
According to the Military Police, the tourist was taken to the Souza Aguiar Municipal Hospital, where he underwent surgery. According to the hospital, his condition is stable.
The PM also reported that a suspicious couple was arrested on Rua da Lapa, in the central region of the city. They were taken by agents from the 5th BPM (Center) to the Special Tourism Support Police Station (Deat), where they were charged with attempted robbery.
In a statement, the Civil Police reported that agents are carrying out efforts to locate two other people involved, and that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the case.
