Italian tourists were attacked with a knife in the Moroccan city of Fes

Two Italian tourists who were attacked with a knife yesterday Thursday (19/1) in the northern city of Fes were slightly injured. Morocco. The perpetrator was a man suffering from “mental disorders”, Moroccan media reported.

The attacker attacked the two Italians with a knife “for no apparent reason”, while taking a tour of tourist attractions, the website Le360 reported. The tourists were slightly injured in the hands, according to the same source citing police sources.

Police stopped the attacker and arrested him. Upon investigation, it was found that the arrested man had been hospitalized for psychiatric disorders dating back to 2013. His last admission to a clinic was on September 19, Moroccan media reported.

The prosecutor’s office initially assigned the case to the anti-terrorist agency, but it was later ruled out as being related to terrorism.
