Italy: 19,215 new coronavirus cases and 66 deaths in the last 24 hours

The last twenty-four hours in Italy 19,215 cases of coronavirus were recorded and 66 people lost their lives. In total, 501,815 diagnostic tests were performed, 3.8% of which were positive. There are 829 patients with Covid 19 in the intensive care units of the country, while there are 6,697 in the hospital wards.

Meanwhile, a group of anti-vaccinators attacked the Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi via the internet: the address of his residence was posted, urging “to hold rallies outside his house every night”. The incident is being investigated by the Italian police department, which is investigating the “commission of crimes through the Internet”.

At the same time, after yesterday the death of a fifty-year-old man, who refused to be vaccinated and intubated in the city of Trento in northern Italy, today in the same city died a patient of thirty-nine years old, also a vaccinator.

He belonged to a vulnerable group and, despite the urgings of his relatives, decided not to be vaccinated. His “profile” on Facebook was filled with messages of condolence from relatives and friends. One in particular, which is highlighted by the Italian media, sums up the pain but also the anger of many people for another undefeated life: “I wish you rest of your soul. You said that the coronavirus does not exist, my friend… “, writes a brotherly friend of the thirty-nine-year-old.
