Italy: 30,630 new cases, 125 deaths due to Covid-19

Italy today announced 30,630 new cases of coronavirus, compared to 53,588 yesterday Sunday, according to data from the country’s Ministry of Health. In the last 24 hours, 125 patients lost their lives due to complications of Covid-19.

Italy has seen 159,909 deaths since the pandemic began. It is the second worst report in Europe after Britain and the eighth worst in the world. The confirmed cases of Covid-19 amount to a total of 14.87 million as of February 2020.

There are currently 10,241 patients with Covid-19 in simple hospital beds (224 more than yesterday Sunday). 36 patients were admitted to intensive care units (ICU), six fewer compared to the previous 24 hours. A total of 483 carriers of the virus are currently being treated in the ICU.
