Italy today announced 69,278 new cases of coronavirus, compared to 88,173 yesterday Tuesday, according to data from the country’s Ministry of Health. In the last 24 hours, 150 patients have died due to complications of Covid-19.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Italy has counted 160,973 deaths. This is the second worst report in Europe after Britain and the eighth worst in the world. Confirmed cases of Covid-19 total about 15 million as of February 2020.
There are currently 10,164 patients with Covid-19 in simple hospital beds (82 less than yesterday Tuesday). 51 patients were admitted to intensive care units (ICU), six fewer compared to the previous 24 hours. A total of 466 carriers of the virus are currently being treated in the ICU.
In the last 24 hours, 461,448 coronavirus tests were performed, according to the Italian Ministry of Health.
