For homicide on purpose, with racist motives, a 63-year-old man is accused Italian that killed me bow a 41-year-old Peruvian, reports the Ansa agency citing the public prosecutor’s office in Genoa.
THE Javier Alfredo Romero Mirandaa 41-year-old laborer, was celebrating the birth of his son on Tuesday afternoon when he was fatally wounded by an arrow shot by an archer from the window of his house.
According to eyewitnesses, the 63-year-old Evaristo Skalko he had succeeded earlier with racist comments against Romero Miranda and a friend of his, also of Peruvian origin.
In videos taken by bystanders, Skalko can be seen rushing to help his victim before the ambulance arrived. However, in a video published by the local newspaper of Genoa, “Il Secolo XIX” on her website, Skalko can be seen swinging the bow and observing from the window of his house the victim and his friend who was filming with his mobile phone at the time.
Shortly thereafter, Skalko was arrested by the police, who seized three bows and dozens of arrows from his home.
Scalco claimed he was disturbed by the commotion the two Peruvians were making, whom he repeatedly asked to be quiet, but they responded with insults and throwing objects.
The victim, seriously injured in the liver, succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the hospital.
The mayor of Genoa, Giovanni Totti, condemned the act of a “paranoid”. “No party, no commotion or any other situation can justify such a reaction”he wrote in a post on Twitter.
