Italy: Cosa Nostra fugitive “godfather” arrested in Palermo

THE Giuseppe Calvaruzo, mobster “godfather” who has been living in Brazil for years, was arrested yesterday, Sunday, by the carabinieri in Palermo, Sicily, while he was preparing to celebrate the Catholic Easter with his relatives, reports APE.

Calvaruzo, 44, had returned to Italy for a short stay. Carabinieri spotted him at the airport in the Sicilian capital as he prepared to head to his old home for lunch with friends, relatives and traditional Easter dishes. At the same time, four other people were arrested as members Cosa Nostra. They are all accused of blackmail, kidnappings and mafia activities.
